-I started "working" "in information security" in high school, in the United States CyberPatriot program, fka., "High School CCDC", a cyber defense program. In truth, I spent most of my time in high school teaching threat modeling, hardening, etc to other classmates. In CyberPatriot 6, my team made it to the national finals. In college, I ran a side business producing practice materials, including vulnerable systems, patching guides, lectures, and other content, across all major operating systems. I was a formal technical mentor to teams for several years.
-In my career, I've implemented ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and transitioned to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, implemented ISO/IEC 27701:2019, and worked on implementing SOC 2 Type 1 & SOC 2 Type 2, in addition to technical, architectural, and organizational guidance on information security from software design to networking to organization, including all aspects of risk management and treatment.
