====== Software I use ====== * [[https://www.sublimetext.com/|Sublime Text]] is my favorite text editor. I've used it since ST2, 3, and now into 4. It is easily the most performant editor I've used, opening gigabyte-sized files with ease. It's find and replace function is amazing. * [[https://www.dueapp.com/|Due]] is my reminders app of choice for "persistent, naggy reminders." For things that absolutely must be completed, Due includes a feature where it will constantly send notifications reminding you of the reminder until the system throttles it. For example, if you need to take some medicine at 9pm, you can set it to notify you at 9pm every day, and thereafter, every 5 minutes until completed. * [[https://mpv.io/|mpv]] is my favorite media player on most systems. On iOS, I use [[https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nplayer-plus/id539397400|nPlayer]], and on Apple TV, I use [[https://apps.apple.com/us/app/infuse/id1136220934|infuse]]. * [[https://mimestream.com/|Mimestream]] is my favorite email client. * [[https://clean.email|Clean email]] is my favorite email cleaning service. Specifically, compared to Sanebox, I use it for the email screening and auto-clean features. * [[https://apps.ankiweb.net/|Anki]] is my favorite flash card app, but it's really the only SRS app I use. * [[https://apps.apple.com/jp/app/amphetamine/id937984704|Amphetamine]] is the app I use to keep my Mac awake. * [[https://www.alfredapp.com/|Alfred]] is what I use for a launcher on Mac. * [[https://cleanshot.com/|Cleanshot X]] is my screenshot / screen recording tool of choice. * [[https://apps.apple.com/app/id6502974735|RhythMap]] is my favorite store locator for rhythm games in [[Japan]]. * [[https://tot.rocks/|Tot]] is my favorite cross-device scratch pad for text. * Of course, you will lose data if you rely on it for complex notes and you edit across multiple devices. Due to the fact that it uses iCloud Sync as a backend, you will inevitably encounter sync conflicts like [[Soulver]] and you'll lose data. * [[https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shadowrocket/id932747118|Shadowrocket]] is my favorite VPN/proxy app. * [[https://papago.naver.com/|Naver Papago]] is my favorite translation service, but the [[https://apps.apple.com/jp/app/papago-ai%E9%80%9A%E8%A8%B3-%E7%BF%BB%E8%A8%B3/id1147874819|Papago app]] is the best by far for what I need. Specifically, it allows you to copy kanji from images so you can then paste that into other things like notes or dictionaries. It's far better than Apple's image-to-text recognition. It is also the best translation tool for Korean and pretty good for Japanese/Chinese. * [[https://location.am-all.net/alm/top?lang=en|The ALL.net games locator service]] is also really useful. * [[https://nerv.app/en|NERV]] delivers disaster early warning and prevention notifications in Japan. Japan only service. Free! * [[https://apps.apple.com/us/app/radarscope/id288419283|RadarScope]] is amazing in the US as a weather radar. * [[http://jtlppj.web.fc2.com/shop_allnet/|ALL.net shop radar]]. * [[https://www.opener.link/|Opener]] opens links in different apps on iOS. * [[https://flighty.com/|Flighty]] is my favorite flight journal app. * macOS, lol * [[https://jquake.net/|JQuake]] is my default earthquake app. * [[https://circle.ms|Circle.ms]] (more specifically the web catalog function) is my default way to navigate events like コミケ etc. * [[https://sideloadly.io/|Sideloadly!]] (with a paid Apple Developer account) * [[https://github.com/NeoFreeBird/app|NeoFreeBird]] * [[https://github.com/YTLitePlus/YTLitePlus|YTLitePlus]] (use use the catbox IPA mirror) * [[https://playcover.io/|PlayCover]] for playing Genshin on Mac * [[https://decrypt.day/|Decrypt.day]] is a good source of decrypted apps
