One of the most annoying things I've noticed is that I seem to acquire PET bottles at an absurd pace in Japan. To combat this, I recently got this amazing PET bottle hamper that can store a lot of PET bottles. It's very high quality for the price and ships in a way that's packed flat.
I live in an area with group collection that only happens on a semi-regular basis, so having a way to collect PET bottles before recycling day is really critical.
This design is really nice too, because it has washable inner lining bags so that you can wash them from time to time. It's not an eyesore, and it's made of fabric, which makes it closer to a clothes hamper than a plastic recycling bin. I really recommend it!
